The UN General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples.<\/p>\n<p>The World Council of Churches also calls on churches around the world to pray for peace on September 21, designating\u00a0it as the <a href=\"http:\/\/overcomingviolence.org\/en\/decade-to-overcome-violence\/about-dov\/international-day-of-prayer-for-peace.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">International Day of Prayer for Peace<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"csc-textpic-imagewrap csc-textpic-single-image\">Just Peace Sunday<\/h3>\n<p class=\"csc-textpic-imagewrap csc-textpic-single-image\">Your church community\u00a0can mark the Sunday closest to the International Day of Peace as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ucc.org\/just_peace_sunday_resources\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Just Peace Sunday<\/a>.
