The Dr. Luth Mendiola Tenorio Doctoral Study and Professional Enhancement Fund at Silliman University College of Nursing <\/em><\/strong>was established with Wider Church Ministries in 2015 \u00a0at the request of Dr. Luth Mendiola Tenorio in order to assist the Silliman University College of Nursing, located in Dumaguete City, Philippines, in providing resources for its faculty to access doctoral and post-doctoral professional development opportunities. The purpose of the Fund is to assist, in perpetuity, the Silliman University College of Nursing faculty in their pursuit of doctoral or post-doctoral professional development activities.<\/p>\n Dr. Luth Mendiola Tenorio, an alumna of the Silliman University College of Nursing, established the Fund in gratitude for her excellent educational experience there, 1952-1956, and in recognition of the mission of Silliman University.\u00a0 Dr. Tenorio worked as the Head-Nurse of the Silliman University Hospital Obstetrics Department from 1956 until 1958. After her graduate studies in the United States, she worked as a nurse faculty member at Minnesota State University-Mankato, Head of the Department of Nursing at Miami University of Ohio, and the Dean of the College of Nursing at Seattle University, Seattle, Washington; Dr. Tenorio retired from that position in 2000.<\/p>\n One hundred percent of the distributions from the Dr. Luth Mendiola Tenorio Doctoral Study and Professional Enhancement Fund at Silliman University College of Nursing <\/em><\/strong>are disbursed to the Silliman University College of Nursing, designated to support the school\u2019s faculty to participate in doctoral and post-doctoral professional development activities.<\/p>\n
