The\u00a0Alice Rist Langford Fund for the Division of Overseas Ministries<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0was established in 2008 as an endowment fund of the Division of Overseas Ministries.\u00a0 The Fund was established at the request of Alice Rist Langford, who served as Treasurer of the Division of Overseas Ministries 1984-1991.\u00a0 The distributions from the\u00a0Alice Rist Langford Fund for the Division of Overseas Ministries<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0are used to benefit the work of the Division of Overseas Ministries\/Global Ministries.<\/p>\n

Alice Langford served in various capacities in\u00a0the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) for a total of 26 years.\u00a0 During the years 1949-1955 Mrs. Langford worked as a secretarial assistant in the Department of Missionary Organizations and was promoted to the position of National Director of Program Coordination in the Department of Christian Women\u2019s Fellowship of the United Christian Missionary Society (UCMS). From 1958 until 1961, Mrs. Langford served with her husband, Dr. Alec J. Langford, as Fraternal Aid Ministers with theChurchofChristinBournemouth,England, supported by Week of Compassion funds.\u00a0 From 1975 until 1984 Mrs. Langford worked in the Division of Homeland Ministries (DHM) and directed the International Christian Women\u2019s Fellowship Quadrennial Assembly of Disciples women in 1978 and 1982. Her title was later Director of Stewardship and Worship in the Department of Church Women.\u00a0\u00a0 Following her time with DHM, Alice Langford was elected Treasurer and Executive of Finance of the Division of Overseas Ministries from 1984 until her retirement at the end of 1991.<\/p>\n

Distributions from the Alice Rist Langford Fund for the Division of Overseas Ministries<\/strong><\/em> will be used for the work of the Division of Overseas Ministries\/Global Ministries.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
