The Global Ministries home-based staff are excited to share some recommendations!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>(Note: These are recommendations from individual staff members and do not speak for Global Ministries as an organization.)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Family-Friendly Movies<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0910970\/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Wall-E<\/a> <\/strong>&#8211; A Pixar animated film recommended by Marcy Gansler, Program Manager for Mission Education and Communications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt3521164\/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_6_nm_2_q_Moana\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Moana<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; A wonderful Disney movie recommended by many members of the staff.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0266543\/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_8_nm_0_q_findin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Finding Nemo<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; Recommended by Bethany Guy, Program Manager for Mission Education and Communications, who shares, &#8220;While not about creation care explicitly, I loved this movie and it really helped me to understand the value in caring for The Great Barrier Reef.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Children&#8217;s Books<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/bookshop.org\/p\/books\/we-are-water-protectors-carole-lindstrom\/9871518?ean=9781250203557\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">We Are Water Protectors by Carole Lindstrom<\/a>&#8211;<\/strong> This was recommended by a few parents on our staff, but Jake Brooks. Program Associate for Resource Development, writes, &#8220;I love this children\u2019s book because it tells a story of Indigenous activism that honors and celebrates Indigenous communities\u2019 contributions to society. I also love that it gives language parents can use with their children, such as referring to Indigenous activists as Water Protectors. It\u2019s a simple way to instill a sense of concern for the environment and respect for the Indigenous tribes who are fighting for all our rights.&#8221;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/bookshop.org\/p\/books\/earthdance-joanne-ryder\/11051386?ean=9780805062311\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Earthdance by Joanne Ryder<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; &#8220;One of my favorite kids books!&#8221; says Marcy Gansler, Program Manager for Mission Education and Communications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/bookshop.org\/p\/books\/the-lorax-dr-seuss\/11263945?ean=9780394823379\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>The Lorax<\/strong> <strong>by Dr. Seuss<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; Recommended by several Global Ministries staff members.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/bookshop.org\/p\/books\/the-earth-book-todd-parr\/108996?ean=9780316042659\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Earth Book by Todd Parr<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; Marcy Gansler, Program Manager for Mission Education and Communications shares, &#8220;My son and I love Todd Parr books.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Websites<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.globetrottinkids.com\/earth-hour-information-activities-for-kids\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Earth Hour Activities from Globetrottin&#8217; Kids<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; Recommended by Sekinah Hamlin, Advocacy Consultant, who shares, &#8220;This is a kids website we subscribe to. It gives great ideas and resources for connecting kids to the world.&#8221;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.earthguardians.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Youth Community: Earth Guardians<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; Jake Brooks recommends this and explains, &#8220;Earth Guardians is a grassroots network that cultivates leadership within young people for the environmental movement.&#8221;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/merip.org\/magazine\/296\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Middle East Report: Nature and Politics Issue<\/a> <\/strong>&#8211; Recommended by Peter Makari, Middle East and Europe Global Relations Minister, who writes, &#8220;MERIP is a very good quarterly journal on Middle East issues, often from a political economy point of view.&nbsp; This particular issue focuses on the environment with articles covering several countries and relationships.&#8221;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalministries.org\/get_involved\/justice_and_advocacy\/global_warming_and_the_care_of_creation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Creation Care Advocacy Opportunities and Information from Global Ministries<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; Of course we recommend this! \ud83d\ude42 <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Books<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Water-Wars-Coming-Conflicts-Middle\/dp\/0575057971\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Water Wars: Coming Conflicts in the Middle East by John Bulloch <\/a><\/strong>&#8211; Recommended by Peter Makari, Global Relations Minister for the Middle East and Europe. Peter shares, &#8220;While several years old, this book gives a detailed and prescient look at the importance of and conflict over water throughout the region.&#8221;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/bookshop.org\/p\/books\/the-boy-who-harnessed-the-wind-young-readers-edition-william-kamkwamba\/15735382?ean=9780147510426\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind by William Kamkwamba<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; A great book for middle-grade readers and above. This was recommended by Marcy Gansler, Program Manager for Mission Education and Communications, who shares, &#8220;It was inspiring!&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Movies<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt11286314\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Don&#8217;t Look Up <\/a><\/strong>&#8211; This is a Netflix original movie recommended by Marcy Gansler, Program Manager for Mission Education and Communications.
